Creamy Chicken Pasta
One of the first dishes I learned to cook is this creamy chicken pasta. It is not only very simple and quick to make but it is very cheap while simultaneously can impress guests or people staying over. It is also a simple dish to cook for just yourself, or to scale it up to have a dinner party, everyone will be impressed for sure!
Cooking time: < 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Chicken breast
- Your favorite kind of pasta (I recommend Tagliatelle)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- Butter
- Cream cheese (with garlic and herbs)
- Italian dried herbs [optional]
Preparation
- Mince the garlic and put it in a small cup
- Add a small stick of butter to the cup (just enough to cover the chicken when it is melted) and start mixing the garlic in with the butter
- Start cooking the pasta according to the package and take it out of the water about 1 minute before the estimated cooking time
- Season the chicken breast with salt and pepper
- Cook the chicken breast in a pan with some oil/butter
- When the pasta is almost ready, drain the pasta water but keep a bit aside in case you need it later.
- When the chicken is almost fully cooked, add the butter infused with garlic on top and let it melt (use a lid if needed)
- Next add cream cheese to the pasta and stir it around, how much you add depends on your own taste
- When the sauce is too thick, at some pasta water.
- Finally add some fresh ground pepper to the pasta en optionally some Italian dried herbs.
- Now put the chicken on a cutting board and cut it in long strips
- Plate with the chicken breast on top of the pasta and add some fresh ground pepper to make it look amazing!
That’s it. Enjoy!
